Core Values

Core Value 1 - We value living for God’s glory alone.

We were created for God’s glory. (Isa. 43:7) Everything we think, say, and do should be done for His glory. (I Cor. 10:31) We honor God by obediently living our lives in a way that reflects His glory. (Ps. 115:1; Rom. 12:1-2; Eph. 1:3-14). God’s glory is our ultimate goal, motivation, and guiding influence behind everything we do. Our motivation to evangelize the lost should always come from love and obedience to God and never from guilt or compulsion. We believe that the truth of the Gospel should be clearly communicated through our words and deeds, withgentlenessand reverence,sothatGodwillbeglorifiedinourdailyconduct.(Romans8:35-39;Eph 1:12; James 2:18; 2 Tim 1;9; Psalm 51:12; 1 Cor. 9:16).

Core Value 2 - We value authentic, Biblical worship.

Worship begins with understanding who God is and what He has revealed about Himself. (Rom. 1:18-32) Proper worship flows from understanding and experiencing the redeeming work of Christ. We must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:23-24). We believe worship is not simply an activity or event, as much as a way of life for every believer (Rom. 12:1-2; 1 Cor. 10:31). Whether individual or corporate, all worship should be God-ward focused, as believers seek to exalt God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit of God in ways that engage both our hearts and our mind. Expositional biblical teaching is essential to proper corporate worship (2 Tim. 2:15), as is sacrificial giving of all our God-given resources (Rom. 12:1; Phil. 4:18; Heb. 13:15-16;(2 Cor. 9:1-15; 2 Cor. 8:12-15). Giving of our physical and financial resources is an outflow of our relationship to God (2 Cor.8:1-7; Rom. 12: 1-2) and should be with reverence and awe. (Heb. 12:28-29)

Core Value 3 - We value the Bible as God’s revelation of Himself and our final authority for all we say, think, and do.

God’s inerrant, written Word instructs and guides every aspect of our faith and life. (II Tim. 3:16-17; II Pet. 1:19- 21). God has entrusted the local church with His inerrant Word, which should be taught through the empowering the Holy Spirit that we may grow towards spiritual maturity (Eph. 4:13-14; Col. 1:28). Our goal is to clearly communicate the Scriptures in a way that can be applied to every aspect of our lives. (Heb. 4:12). Expositional biblical teaching is essential to proper corporate worship and spiritual growth. (John 4:23,24 Ezra 7:10; Acts 20:20; Col. 1:28;2 Tim. 4:1-3; Acts 2:42, 46; Acts 20:13-36.) The principles of Scripture will measure all decisions made by this church body.

Core Value 4 - We value humble dependence upon God expressed through prayer.

Prayer demonstrates our dependence on God. Through prayer, we recognize His holiness and supremacy and our humanity and need. (John 15:1-11) We believe God desires us to pray and that He hears and answers prayer. (Matt. 6:7-15; Matt. 7:7-11) We believe prayer is continual communication with God, with joy and thanksgiving. (I Thess. 5:16-18; Phil. 4:5-7). Therefore, our church's ministries and activities in their conception, planning, and implementation should be characterized by prayerful reliance on Him.

Core Value 5 - We value a growing community of believers that build one another up to Christ-like maturity.

We are committed to investing in each other’s life with unconditional love, unified in our faith in Christ and service to God. (John 13:34-35; Acts 2:42-47; Rom. 12:3-8; Eph. 4). We value loving relationships that build one another up (Gal 5;22-23,1 Peter 4;8,1 John 4;8, John 13:34-35, 1 Cor 13;1-13) and enable us to multiply disciples. We value gatherings of believers that develop deep, meaningful discipleship and personal relationships. Spiritual maturity can only happen in the context of believers’ gatherings that emphasize emphasizes genuine relationships of encouragement and accountability with other followers of Jesus (Acts 2:42-47; 1 Cor. 12:12-27). We seek to maintain the unity of the spirit and harmony within the Body (Eph. 4:3).

Core Value 6 - We value intentionally communicating the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those in our community and to every part of the world.

We believe that the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ is the only message of hope and ONLY way of salvation for unbelievers. (Matt. 28:19-20; I Cor. 15:1-4) We believe that every believer is responsible for evangelizing and should be fully prepared to clearly communicate the message of salvation through Jesus Christ with ALL unsaved people, both in our local community and worldwide. We believe the Holy Spirit enables and empowers believers to be a witness of Christ to a lost and dying world. (Acts 1:8) We believe that, since this is a clear command from God, our local church should be intentional and focused on our obedience to it. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 3:6;2 Cor. 5:17-20; Col.4:2-6; 1 Cor. 15:1-4, Acts 8:35)

Core Value 7 - We value the multiplication-designed discipleship of believers.

We believe every believer's responsibility is to be a disciple of Christ and a disciple-maker who helps others replicate a purposeful disciple-making pattern. We believe that God’s direction for this pattern of evangelism and disciple-making is clearly defined in Scripture, that the Holy Spirit enables and empowers us to communicate the message of salvation through Jesus Christ with unbelievers, and that God is the One who opens unbelievers’ eyes to the truth. We believe this process of building spiritually into one another’s lives should be intentionally multiplied as we each come to know and grow in Christ and as we teach and encourage others to do the same. (Matt. 28:19-20; II Tim. 2:2; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; 1 Cor. 2:1-5, 3:6-7; Romans 8:29-30; Titus 2:1-8; John 20:21).

Core Value 8 - We value the equipping of every member to serve in ministry, led by a plurality of servant leaders.

We believe every believer is gifted by the Holy Spirit for ministry and are to be trained in the exercise of their gifts to build up one another to Christ-like maturity. (I Cor. 12; Eph. 4:11-17). We desire to provide an atmosphere of love and service that would strengthen us into a grace-oriented body of believers. We believe the local church is to be led by a plurality of elders, accountable to Christ, the Chief Shephard. (I Pet. 5:1-5). For God’s people to thrive, He has prescribed the shepherding ministry of a plurality of elders, accountable to Christ, the Chief Shepherd, who exercise authority to build up His church (Heb. 13:17). We desire to faithfully pray for, train up, and set apart godly men whose character, maturity, and example mark them as God’s appointed servants for the care of His precious sheep (2 Cor. 10:8; 1 Pet. 5:1-4; 1 Tim. 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9). The church must be led by servant-leaders whose motives are pure and are guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit (Lk. 22:26; Jn. 13:1-20; 1 Thess. 2:3-8).
